Hi, Mitch.
… I had a question that I meant to ask you guys regarding the following verses:

Joh 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and
THE WORD WAS GOD.

Joh 8:58 Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, BEFORE
Abraham was, I AM.

Col 1:15 Who is the image of the invisible God, the FIRSTBORN OF
EVERY CREATURE:
Col 1:16 For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and
that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or
dominions, or principalities, or powers: ALL THINGS WERE CREATED BY
HIM, and for him:
Col 1:17 And HE IS BEFORE ALL THINGS, and by him all things consist.

From these Scriptures it seems that Christ was both created (being the
firstborn of every creature) and creator (all things were created by
him). What I don’t completely understand is the phrase from John 1:1
. . . THE WORD WAS GOD.

Is this simply a statement of the oneness in spirit of the Father and Son?

Under the Old Covenant God commanded that all the resources needed to fund
his ministry be provided through tithing. God required that sacrifices be made and gifts given to provide everything needed, including provision for the priesthood that administered the Old Covenant.

We are now under the New Covenant and there is a new way that God is going to provide the resources needed to advance His Gospel through the Church. This is the fulfillment of all the types and shadows hidden behind the letters of the Old Covenant, which reveal a better, more excellent way.

Some pray with eyes open, and some pray with eyes closed. Some pray lying prostrate on the ground, and some pray falling backward on the ground. Muslims pray to the east, Christendom builds “houses of prayer,” Jews pray to a wall, Catholics pray to Christ’s dead mother, and Webster’s defines prayer as “an address (as a petition) to God or a god in word or thought.” Everyone who prays in these different ways sincerely desires to be heard by God, but this or may not be what Christ thinks of prayer at all.

Prayer is much more that just making requests to God, it is actually a way of life. Many questions will be answered with the scriptures such as: How do I pray? Whose prayers does God hear? Why are my prayers not answered? and What should we pray for?

If Christ is our example, then “the zeal of [God's] house” should ‘eat us up’ also. The Greek word for ‘eaten’ here appears fifteen times in the New Testament. Of those fifteen times, twelve entries have been translated as ‘devour’ or ‘devoured’. So the zeal of God’s house had devoured Christ, and the zeal of God’s house ought to also be devouring each of us.

So what does it mean to be devoured by the zeal of God’s house? How would you and I be devoured or eaten up by the zeal of God’s house?

Questions concerning the God-head have been around within God’s church since the death of the apostles, and they will no doubt continue until Christ’s return.

Belief in a Trinity God-head has been declared by some to be one of the required beliefs to which one must confess to avoid the label “cult” these days, or in post-Nicean days, “heretic”. Having read many essays on this subject over the years, one thing has become clear; proponents of the Trinity are forced to go outside scripture, outside the family and outside reality to explain how three equals one. So, having no illusions of settling this question once and for all, let us simply consider what scripture says on this subject.

Will God’s Strong Delusion Deceive You?

Why are some people born blind? Because God makes them that way. We are all born spiritually blind and then think we see the truth when we begin to learn about the Christian faith. The reality is that God has sent us a strong delusion, that we will believe a lie. Nearly everything we have believed is wrong, and now we must learn it all over again. This is all a necessary part of his plan to reveal his Glory and save all of Mankind.

This study will reveal how and why God sends this strong delusion upon his people, and how he brings us out of it into the truth. This is an incredibly humbling process that reveals the great mystery of God’s will hidden in the scriptures.

After the Council of His Own Will

This is a discussion on Ayo’s paper, “Partakers of the Second Death”. It is true that we live by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God, but it is more difficult to apply this principle to certain scriptures than others. The scriptures clearly state in Rev 2:11, “He that overcometh shall not be hurt of the second death.”, but if we live by every word how do God’s elect live out Rev 19:20 and Rev 20:13-15. These verses explain that death, hell (hades), the beast, and false prophet are all cast into the lake of fire, which is the second death.

As God begins to open our eyes to the truth of his word, He first has to lay a new foundation of principles upon which He will build our new spiritual house. Hebrews 6:1 lists out the six first principles that we must come to understand and then move beyond towards maturity. These doctrines are referred to as milk and not strong meat of the word.

This series of papers addresses many questions including: What is true baptism, does being water baptized change us in any way, how is true faith towards God different from the faith I have had until now, what does laying on of hands mean, how is the resurrection from the dead happening now, is God going to burn people in hell forever, and what is the true meaning of eternal judgment.

How important is forgiving others? Christ tell us in Matthew 18 that if we do not forgive others, then we will not be forgiven. Not forgiving others causes great bitterness to develop within, and prevents us from loving God, our neighbors and especially our enemies.

Through looking at the story of Joseph and many other scriptures, this study will reveal that the key to forgiveness is realizing God is causing everything to work together for good. An unforgiving heart is really a probelm between you and God, not other people. Lord willing these scriptures will help set you free from bondage to bitterness and increase your ability to love God and others more.

No matter how strong a solder is, he cannot win a war alone, he needs an army. Overcoming our flesh and the temptations of this life requires the body of Christ working together.

This study will explain how to wage spiritual warfare, the spiritual meaning of the weapons in Ephesians 6, and how the Body of Christ works together as an army to win the war.

God’s elect in this life have been assigned the the role of representing Him to the rest of the world. Just as God sent Christ, so Christ sends out his disciples to preach the gospel, which typify the elect. Christ’s Ambassador’s are not impressive people by the world’s standards, in fact they are people who have been crushed by trials, humbled by weakness, and do not want to be Ambassadors when God first calls them. Through their weakness the power of God is revealed, and these Ambassadors boldly proclaim the Gospel and walk the narrow way of righteousness in this present evil world.

This study reveals the life of an Ambassador for Christ: how they are drug to Christ, given the Body of Christ to help them, declare the Gospel boldly, rightfully handle the word of God, properly teach others, and warn God’s people. It will also set proper expectations for the severe trials that lie ahead, as well as the inexpressible value of the rewards.
